What Happens When You Are Disconnected?

Over the past 2 weeks at Jr Youth we have been doing an experiment to see how a plant fairs when it is disconnected from its soil and not watered. Here is a picture of the plant on Jan 27:
Then after just one week the plant looked like this:

It was totally withered and dead! But that probably didn't surprise you. So why then do we try to live our lives disconnected from God, the One that created us and sustains us? It says in
John 15:4-5: Remain in me (Jesus), as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.  “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
So I encourage you, stay connected to God, daily. Otherwise your life will start to seem dry and withered.
